Kimbo Slice fighting in TUF Finale

Kimbo Slice, also known as Kevin Ferguson, will enter the Octagon on December 5 for The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, according to Spike TV.

Kimbo, who was defeated early in the series by Roy "Big Country" Nelson, will fight an opponent announced at a later date. The cable network says it all depends on what transpires on the special two-hour TUF episode a few days before, but everyone expects the opponent to be Houston Alexander.

Alexander was approved for re-licensure on November 3 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and the rumors of a Kimbo Slice vs Houston Alexander bout, have been out there for a while now. The bout is rumored to be contested at a 215 catch-weight, since Alexander usually fights at LHW. Kimbo, with an official record of 3-1, is currently training at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida for the fight.

Kimbo has some really powerful hands and a great work ethic, but coming into the MMA game at 35 years with close to zero ground skills, might prove too big of a challenge for the street fighter from Florida. I suspect Kimbo to get a lot of fights in the future, but they will most likely be against over the hill opponents who like to stand up and trade strikes. He might become the new Tank Abbott so to speak. The UFC is too much of a business to put on fights that will go down like the Kimbo vs Nelson bout did. It was straight-up embarrassing.
